Contractor Networking and Outreach Event
On Friday, July 29, 2011 the San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) will host its 4th Annual Networking and Outreach Event, designed to bring San Diego’s top general contractors and builders together with local small and historically underutilized subcontractors.
Attendees will hear an overview of the District’s Propositions S & N construction bond program, and will learn about the move toward Design/Build delivery for the majority of future projects. Design/Build proposal teams are required to submit a Subcontracting Plan that includes the use of small, disadvantaged, minority, woman-owned and service disabled veteran-owned businesses, professional service providers and vendors. You’ll have a chance to meet with anticipated Design/Build proposal teams to introduce yourself and share information about your services or supplies, and your small business certification(s).
Information will also be provided on workshops and trainings available through the San Diego Contracting Opportunities Center and the Small Business Development Center to help small businesses improve the ability to do business with government agencies.
The event will be held from 7:30 – 9 a.m. at San Diego Miramar College in the courtyard of the Hourglass Park Field House, and includes a hot breakfast buffet. Event check-in begins at 7 a.m.
